Omegamatic Quartz Omega Seamaster - New Capacitor

This rather unusual Omega Seamaster needed a new capacitor. These have a type of battery that is charged by winding the watch by means of a rotor that spins when the watch is worn. Even though the capacitors last a lot longer than a standard battery, they do eventually fail to hold a charge and need replacing.

The Omega Seamaster Omegamatic is a notable watch model.

The Omega Seamaster Omegamatic was introduced in the late 1990s and was known for its innovative movement. It featured an automatic winding mechanism that was powered by a self-winding rotor. What set the Omegamatic apart was its use of a special movement that could also be manually wound, which was not common in automatic watches at the time. This made it a versatile and user-friendly timepiece.

The Omegamatic was part of the Seamaster collection, which has a long history dating back to 1948. The Seamaster line was initially designed as a durable and water-resistant watch for divers and has evolved over the years to become a popular choice among watch enthusiasts for its combination of style and functionality.

Omega has a rich heritage in watchmaking, known for its precision and innovative technologies. The Omegamatic was a reflection of the brand's commitment to pushing the boundaries of watch engineering while maintaining its reputation for quality and style.
